Meet Asyia Jackson of The Branches of Birth LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Asyia Jackson.

Hi Asyia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into birth work has been one of growth, faith, and learning to trust the path unfolding in front of me. Becoming a mother myself deepened my understanding of how much care, education, and support women need throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. That understanding became the foundation of my work as a doula.

What began as a passion for holistic wellness and supporting mothers grew into The Branches of Birth LLC. I spent years learning, gaining hands-on experience, supporting families through some of their most vulnerable and transformative moments, and discovering the kind of doula I wanted to be. Along the way, I learned that this work requires more than knowledge. It requires patience, advocacy, compassion, boundaries, and a willingness to grow with every family I serve.

Over the years, my work has expanded beyond birth support into postpartum care, holistic wellness, community education, and mentorship for other doulas. Being recognized with the Postpartum Doula of Excellence award by the Doula Association of Virginia was a meaningful reminder of how far this journey has taken me.

Today, as a mother of two, holistic healer, and the owner of The Branches of Birth, I carry both my personal experiences and the lessons from every family I have served into this work. I am learning to build something bigger than myself while remaining grounded in the reason I started.

I did not get here overnight. I got here through experience, continued learning, difficult lessons, meaningful connections, and a deep commitment to the families who trust me. As I step into this next chapter, my vision is to nurture not only mothers and babies, but also the doulas, relationships, and community that will allow this work to continue growing long after me.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey hasn’t always been smooth. Building a business while navigating motherhood, personal growth, and the challenges of birth work has stretched me in ways I never expected. But every challenge has taught me something, strengthened my purpose, and helped me grow into the woman and doula I am today. Even the difficult seasons have brought something positive, reminding me that growth is rarely linear, but always meaningful.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The Branches of Birth LLC?
The Branches of Birth LLC is a holistic, full-spectrum doula business dedicated to nurturing mothers and families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. We offer birth support, prenatal education, postpartum care, meal preparation, holistic wellness consultations, placenta services, and mentorship for aspiring doulas.

What sets us apart is our commitment to seeing the whole person, not just the pregnancy or birth. We believe doula care is not one-size-fits-all, and we meet families where they are, honoring their individual needs, experiences, and choices. Our approach blends education, emotional support, physical comfort, and holistic care to help families feel informed, empowered, and supported.

As a mother of two and a doula entering my fifth year of birth work, I have built The Branches of Birth through hands-on experience, continued learning, and a genuine passion for maternal wellness. I am especially proud of the community and trust we have cultivated.

Beyond serving families, my vision is to expand access to compassionate maternal care, create meaningful community connections, and mentor the next generation of doulas. The Branches of Birth is more than a business; it is a growing community rooted in care, connection, and the belief that mothers deserve to be nurtured, too.
