Today we’d like to introduce you to Gwenyth Airhart.
Hi Gwenyth, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’d always had an artsy eye for everything around me. My parents starting noticing in my early teen years that I’d taken an interest in photography, and bought me my first camera for Christmas! It was the best day of pre-teen me’s life!
Fast forward to about 10 years later in 2021, I decided to start taking pictures of people who weren’t my family. It was nerve wracking, but I quickly built a love for the game. Meeting new and incredible people, learning how to run a business, and creating art that was subjective to myself and what I thought was beautiful. It’s what connects me to myself. This is something I knew I was made for!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As the daughter of a natural-born entrepreneur, the business side of things never came as a hassle to me. I swiftly learned how to hear, manage, and understand clients! I think having prior experience in the customer service world was also incredibly helpful to understanding the consumer mind.
I would say my biggest hassle, honestly, was myself. Learning that it was okay to be charging for my hard work, being able to stand my ground if things got tough, and being able to manage time and home life. It became a lot very quickly, but it also showed me how fast I could get back on my feet.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a photographer, and I specialize in couples and wedding photography! I would say I’m the most proud of how far I’ve come in growing my business. Something that I would say sets me apart from other business owners is I really try to connect with my clients. I see them as people, not customers. People who are trusting me with their hard earned money and their most special times in their life! It’s no small feat, and I would never take that for granted. Understanding a person’s vision and making sure I can bring it to life is the most valuable thing to me.
How do you think about happiness?
Jesus makes me happy. He has given me my incredible husband, my two beautiful children, and my dream career. He has allowed me to meet the most wonderful people and witness their most beautiful days! I couldn’t thank Him enough if I tried.
