Meet Jason Hess of Virginia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Hess.

Hi Jason, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Before my business I oversaw government contracts in the shipyard and was not satisfied in the direction my life was going. I stumbled upon mushroom cultivation as a hobby and realized I had a knack for it, and nobody in my area was growing gourmet mushrooms in any sort of serious capacity. This presented a business opportunity and a lot of things lining up to make the startup happen.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Learning business and commercial mushroom cultivation together with absolutely no experience at the same time has been a challenge but also presents opportunity for gratitude for the growth that is presented as well.

I am an entrepreneur that now specializes in gourmet mushrooms and secondary products that focus on the holistic and medicinal side of mushrooms as well as culinary

What’s next?
The plans for the future would include finding ways to improve and stream line cultivation, production, and research and development for our products as we strive to produce the best in quality in our area.
