Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenya Tanner.
Hi Kenya, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Bodied by K was established in 2019 and officially opened its doors in January 2020. What started as a vision to help women feel confident in their bodies has grown into a full MedSpa offering advanced body contouring, skincare, weight loss services, lymphatic drainage, and other non-invasive aesthetic treatments.
My journey into entrepreneurship began while already working in healthcare as a Licensed Practical Nurse. I also earned my Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management, and over time I realized I wanted to combine my medical background, passion for beauty and wellness, and love for helping others into something of my own.
Starting a business was not easy. There were seasons of uncertainty, financial investment, long days, learning curves, and moments where faith was truly all I had. But I continued to believe in the vision God gave me.
Over the years, Bodied by K has continued to grow through education, consistency, client results, and investing back into the business. I’ve expanded our services, added advanced medical-grade technology, built a team that includes professionals in esthetics and massage therapy, and had the opportunity to serve and educate countless clients along the way.
One of the most rewarding parts of this journey has been watching Bodied by K become more than just a place for body contouring. It has become a space where people come to regain confidence, prioritize themselves, and feel good about who they see in the mirror.
As Bodied by K approaches seven years in business, I’m extremely grateful for how far we’ve come. What started as an idea has grown into a brand, a community, and a foundation that has also allowed me to step into education and entrepreneurship on an even larger level.
There is still so much more ahead, but every chapter of Bodied by K has reminded me that faith, consistency, and believing in your vision can take you places you never imagined.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Entrepreneurship has come with financial challenges, equipment issues, long days, and learning how to balance being a business owner, wife, mother, and educator.
One of my biggest lessons was learning to stand confidently in my pricing, my value, and the vision God gave me. Even during difficult seasons, I continued to show up, trust God, and stay consistent. Every challenge has helped shape both me and Bodied by K into what we are today.

What sets Bodied by K apart is the personal connection we build with every client. We understand that wellness is not one-size-fits-all, so we focus on meeting people where they are and helping them make sustainable changes. Our approach combines accountability, education, encouragement, and faith, creating a supportive experience that goes beyond workouts.
I am especially proud of the brand we have built and the trust people place in Bodied by K. This business has grown through perseverance, consistency, and a genuine desire to help others. I want readers to know that Bodied by K is more than a wellness business, it is a community committed to transformation, confidence, and becoming the best version of yourself.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I came from humble beginnings, and watching my family work hard taught me early that if I wanted something, I had to work for it. I was always ambitious, independent, and naturally drawn to helping others. Even as a child, I had big dreams, although I didn’t always know exactly where they would lead me.
Those early experiences shaped my work ethic and gave me a level of determination that I still carry today. I believe growing up without everything being handed to me made me appreciate success differently. It taught me resilience, gratitude, and how to create opportunities instead of waiting for them.
