Meet Mohamed AbouElsoud of MoFeed Media LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mohamed AbouElsoud.

Hi Mohamed, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey has always been at the intersection of storytelling, technology, and visual communication. I started my career in Egypt after studying computer science, but I quickly realized that what fascinated me most was using technology to tell stories and make information easier for people to understand.

That led me into journalism and digital media, where I worked with news organizations and major media brands including Al-Masry Al-Youm, Youm7, MBC, MSN Arabia, and later Alhurra in the United States. Over the years, my role evolved from digital content and newsroom technology into video production, photography, editing, motion graphics, and visual storytelling. I eventually spent nearly a decade at Alhurra as a Visuals Editor, producing stories that combined journalism, data, video, graphics, and technology. Some of that work received international recognition, including New York Festivals and Telly Awards.

A major turning point came when my longtime media career was unexpectedly disrupted. Rather than seeing that moment only as an ending, I used it as an opportunity to build something of my own and bring together the different skills I had developed throughout my career.

That is how MoFeed Media was born. The name itself represents both my identity and the idea behind the company. “Mo” is short for Mohamed, while “Feed” was inspired by the concept of the digital news feed. Put together, “MoFeed” also sounds like the Arabic word “مفيد,” which means “useful.” I liked that connection because it reflects what I have always believed content should be: not simply something that fills a screen or a social media feed, but something useful, valuable, and worth people’s time.

Today, through MoFeed Media, I work with businesses, organizations, professionals, and real estate clients to help them communicate their stories visually through video production, photography, editing, and digital content. At the same time, I continue exploring how emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, are changing the way stories are created, produced, and distributed.

The tools have changed dramatically since I started my career, but the idea that drives me has stayed the same: good storytelling should help people see, understand, and connect with something, and ultimately leave them with something useful.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges throughout my career has been constantly adapting to an industry that changes very quickly.

I started in media at a time when journalism was still heavily centered around websites and traditional newsrooms. Over the years, I watched the industry move toward social media, mobile video, data visualization, short-form content, and now artificial intelligence. Staying relevant meant continuously learning new tools, new formats, and sometimes completely new ways of thinking about storytelling.

Another major challenge came when, after nearly a decade working at Alhurra, my career there ended unexpectedly as part of a much larger disruption affecting the organization. After spending many years inside an established newsroom, suddenly having to rethink what came next was difficult. But it also forced me to ask myself an important question: instead of waiting for the next opportunity, why not start building one?

Starting MoFeed Media brought a completely different set of challenges. Being good at video production, photography, or storytelling is very different from running a business. I had to learn more about marketing, sales, pricing, client acquisition, SEO, and all the other things that happen outside the creative work itself. When you are building a small business, especially in the beginning, you often have to be the producer, photographer, editor, marketer, salesperson, and problem solver at the same time.

Building a client base from scratch has probably been one of the toughest parts. Experience and a strong portfolio do not automatically bring clients to your door. You have to earn people’s trust, build relationships, understand what local businesses actually need, and prove the value of your work one project at a time.

At the same time, those challenges have been some of the most valuable parts of the journey. They pushed me outside the comfort of working within a large organization and taught me to think not only as a content creator, but also as an entrepreneur.

I still consider MoFeed Media a work in progress, and I actually like that. I am still learning, experimenting, and figuring out how to build something sustainable. For me, the goal is not simply to recreate the career I had before, but to use everything I learned from it to build something new.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
MoFeed Media is a Virginia-based creative media company focused on visual storytelling, video production, photography, and digital content. I founded the company to bring together more than two decades of experience in journalism, digital media, video, photography, editing, motion graphics, and emerging technology.

We help businesses, organizations, professionals, and real estate clients communicate their stories in a way that is clear, engaging, and visually strong. Our services include video production, photography, video editing, motion graphics, social media content, branded storytelling, and real estate photography.

What I believe sets MoFeed Media apart is that I approach projects from a storyteller’s perspective, not simply as someone operating a camera. Before thinking about equipment, editing, or visual effects, I try to understand the story: Who is the audience? What should they understand? What should they feel? And what action should the content ultimately inspire?

My background in journalism has had a major influence on that approach. I spent years taking complicated subjects and turning them into visual stories that audiences could understand quickly. Today, I apply the same thinking to businesses and organizations. A company may need a promotional video, a real estate agent may need photographs that make a property stand out, or a small business may need a consistent stream of social media content, but the underlying challenge is often the same: how do you capture someone’s attention and communicate value clearly?

Another important part of MoFeed Media is the relationship between creativity and technology. My career began with a background in computer science before moving into journalism and visual media, so I have always been interested in how new technologies change the creative process. Today, that includes exploring how artificial intelligence can help businesses develop ideas, improve workflows, repurpose content, and produce more effectively without losing the human element that makes a story meaningful.

I am especially proud that MoFeed Media is being built around flexibility and personal attention. Clients work directly with me throughout the process rather than being passed between multiple departments. That allows me to understand their goals, adapt quickly, and treat each project as its own story rather than applying the same formula to everyone.

Ultimately, I want people to think of MoFeed Media as more than a production company. The goal is to help people and organizations find the story worth telling, and then use the right combination of creativity, technology, and visual communication to tell it well.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are several ways people can work with or collaborate with me through MoFeed Media.

I work with businesses, organizations, entrepreneurs, real estate professionals, and individuals who need help with video production, photography, editing, motion graphics, social media content, or visual storytelling. I am especially interested in projects where there is a meaningful story to tell, whether that means helping a small business explain what makes it different, creating content for an organization, producing a video interview or podcast, or helping a real estate professional present a property and their personal brand more effectively.

I am also very open to collaboration with other photographers, filmmakers, journalists, content creators, marketing professionals, agencies, and organizations. Some projects are stronger when people with different skills come together, so I am always interested in meeting people who see opportunities for us to create something together.

Another way people can support MoFeed Media is simply by connecting us with a business or organization that might need creative media services. Referrals and relationships are incredibly valuable when you are building a local business.

I am based in Northern Virginia and work throughout the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area, while some editing, consulting, and digital content projects can also be handled remotely.

The easiest way to learn more, see my work, or start a conversation is through www.mofeedmedia.com. Even if someone does not have a fully developed project yet, I am always happy to have a conversation about an idea and explore what might be possible.
