Hi Victoria, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hello everyone. My journey with football began as a wee bairn on the East End of Glasgow. In a place with no teams or leagues for girls, the only way to play was to join the boys for their pickup games. They wouldn’t let me on their team—but that didn’t stop me. It lit a fire in me. I lived for the competition, for the raw thrill of stepping onto the pitch and proving I belonged.
I have a core memory from that time of beating a male friend in a one-on-one game. His only comeback was, “You only have one move.” He wasn’t wrong—but it was a move he couldn’t stop. In that moment, I realized I wasn’t just keeping up; I was a better player. That unrelenting drive to compete and win has defined my entire career. It carried me through forming a girls’ team in high school and being recruited at just 14 to play for East Kilbride Ladies.
That competitive spirit never left. After earning a full scholarship to play in the United States and captaining my university team, I went on to compete on semi-professional women’s teams. One of my proudest moments came when our women’s team challenged a local men’s team to a match—and won. It was more than a game; it was a statement.
My path eventually led me to coaching, where I earned my National “A” License and worked as an instructor for U.S. Soccer. As the game continued to evolve, I knew I wanted to build something meaningful and lasting. That’s when I found Soccer Stars.
I am deeply passionate about what Soccer Stars represents—creating a child’s first joyful experience with the beautiful game. My life has been shaped by fighting for a place on the field and embracing the challenge. Today, I focus on giving every child who steps into our classes a sense of excitement, confidence, and belonging. My goal is to help them discover their own “unstoppable move” and create a core sports memory that stays with them for life.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Sports have long been a male-dominated arena, and throughout my journey I’ve faced my share of obstacles—from inappropriate remarks to being overlooked or spoken over. While those moments were undeniably frustrating, they ultimately reinforced my determination to claim my place in the game and advocate for lasting change.

Soccer Stars is a youth sports organization dedicated to delivering developmentally appropriate, play-based programming that introduces children to soccer while building confidence, coordination, and social skills. We serve children as young as one year old and are proud to be a leading choice for early childhood sports education.
I bring a deep background in youth soccer development to Soccer Stars, having served as a Technical Director, Director of Youth Development, Director of Girls Coaching, and Youth Academy Director. I hold a National “A” Coaching License, NSCAA Premier Diploma, and the U.S. Soccer National Youth License, and I am also a Coaching Educator for U.S. Soccer. This experience shapes the intentional curriculum, coaching standards, and philosophy behind everything we do.
What truly sets Soccer Stars apart is our holistic approach to child development and our partnership with Amazing Athletes. Together, we use sport as a catalyst to inspire active futures. I strongly believe that children first learn to move, and then move to learn—by creating opportunities for purposeful movement early on, we support not only physical development, but cognitive growth and long-term confidence.
While soccer is our foundation, our programs extend far beyond the game itself. We focus on essential life skills such as teamwork, resilience, communication, and leadership, all within a fun, supportive, and safe environment where every child can thrive. My greatest pride brand-wise is creating joyful first sports experiences that help children feel capable, confident, and excited to be active.

We are known for blending structured learning with play, expertise with warmth, and high standards with genuine care. What I’d love readers to know is that a child’s first experience with sports truly matters. Those early moments can shape how they see movement, confidence, and themselves for years to come. My entire career has been driven by creating environments where children feel encouraged, capable, and excited to participate—no matter their ability level.
At Soccer Stars, we don’t measure success by goals scored. We measure it by smiles, confidence gained, and kids who can’t wait to come back to class. If a child leaves believing they belong on the field and feeling proud of what their body can do, then we’ve done our job. That’s the impact I care most about, and it’s what continues to drive everything we build.
