Vu, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up in Vietnam, where I learned the value of hard work, perseverance, and taking care of others. After moving to the United States, I entered the nail industry and gradually built and operated couple of nail salons. Along the way, I saw an opportunity to bring something different to our community and opened Zen Day Spa to introduce the Head Spa experience and a new approach to relaxation and wellness. Today, I am proud to continue growing our businesses while creating spaces where clients can relax, feel cared for, and enjoy a complete self-care experience.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like many small business owners, the journey hasn’t always been smooth. Starting and growing multiple businesses came with challenges, including learning a new culture and business environment, managing growth, and balancing work with family life. Opening a new concept like Zen Day Spa also required educating the community about the benefits of Head Spa treatments. However, those challenges helped us grow stronger and more determined. Seeing our clients enjoy the experience and support our businesses has made the journey incredibly rewarding.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up in Vietnam, I was hardworking, independent, and entrepreneurial from a young age. I enjoyed meeting people, building relationships, and finding opportunities to create something meaningful. Those interests eventually led me into the beauty industry and business ownership, where I could combine my passion for serving others with creating welcoming spaces for the community.
