Hi XIMENA, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m Ximena Navarrete, founder and General Manager of Prime Web Agency Online LLC — Prime Web Online — based in Alexandria, Virginia.
I started this company while working — and still working — a full-time job, Monday through Friday and often Saturdays. I built it with a lot of effort and no money, but with a strong desire to get ahead, always trusting that God would open the right doors so I could keep moving forward. It hasn’t been easy, but I’m not going to give up.
The idea came from something I kept seeing across the DMV: hardworking Latino business owners — restaurants, cleaning companies, salons, contractors — doing excellent work but almost invisible online. Many couldn’t find help in their own language, and some had been burned by agencies that promised the world and delivered very little.
That’s why I built Prime Web Online. We create websites, manage local SEO, and run digital marketing for Latino-owned small businesses across Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia — and we do it Spanish-first, so our clients truly understand what they’re investing in and why. We do it with honesty, without false promises like a “guaranteed first page of Google.” That honesty is the foundation of everything we do.
Today we’re growing right alongside the businesses we serve. I recently joined the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GWHCC) and launched free educational content to help Latino entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses in the U.S.
And while our heart is with the Latino community, our doors are open to everyone. Any business owner — from any community — who is looking for honest, dedicated help to grow is welcome at Prime Web Online. We’re here to help them reach higher.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road — and I’d rather be honest about that.
One of the first hurdles was being underestimated as a woman. Some business owners, especially men, don’t want to deal with a woman; they assume we’re not on the same level or that we know less. I’ve run into that attitude, and I learned to answer it with results and confidence in my work, not with words.
But the biggest obstacle has been a lack of awareness. Most people still see a website or digital marketing as an unnecessary expense — something that “won’t work” — instead of what it really is: a tool to grow and reach more customers. A big part of my job isn’t just building the site; it’s educating the owner, showing them how much further their business can go when people can actually find them online.
And doing all of this while working a full-time job, with no investors and starting with no money, has been hard. But every client who sees results and thanks me reminds me why I started. It hasn’t been easy, but I’m not going to give up.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is seeing people see their own effort and work reflected back to them. To some, a website or a set of images might mean nothing — but when a business owner finally sees what they sell, what they offer, their experience, presented with dignity on their website and showing up well on Google, their face lights up. It’s a mix of joy and disbelief — they can’t believe they finally took the step.
I’m also happy when I help people overcome fear. Many, out of uncertainty or fear, don’t dare to open their LLC or S-Corp. When I show them how important it is, the benefits they gain, and the advantages the Chamber of Commerce offers us — Latinos with small businesses — people smile. Some even look like they want to cry, but from happiness.
At the end of the process, many give me a hug. A real hug, full of gratitude, for how supported they felt the whole way. And then getting a call afterward just to thank me — because their website turned out well, it’s properly connected to Google, and they’re now walking toward success — that’s what fills my heart. That’s why I do what I do.
