Rising Stars: Meet Brandi Rose of Virginia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandi Rose.

Hi Brandi, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
when I was 16, I knew that I didn’t want a normal 9 to 5 job.
I went with a friend to a local tattoo shop and just kind of knew
This was my home.
This was my industry
eventually one of the ladies (their name, Cheryl) aka mad dame butterfly
offered to teach me how to make tattoo needles/bars
Which I excitedly accepted
after doing that for a year
(and scrubbing tattoo tubes on the side to earn money,)
they asked me if I would be interested in
learning how to do body piercings.
Of course, I said yes …and there it was ……
I WAS IN!
I was super excited
I had already been working with my mentor, for a year or so so rolling into an apprenticeship was seamless
I had an incredibly knowledgeable mentor (Josh Burgh) who wanted nothing but the best for this industry and instilled that in me heavily
I learned a great deal during my apprenticeship
and never lost that need to continuously further my education.

After being in the industry for so long and seeing so many shops, more concerned with money than progression, I decided to leave the shop I was at for 20 years

my husband (Ryan Anderson) and I set out on our own adventure to open our own Tattoo & Piercing studio
And in 2021 we did just that.

With a focus on higher quality jewelry, amazing customer service and a
Fun, friendly, warm, inviting atmosphere
VALHALLA ROSE TATTOO & BODY PIERCING
was born

Our clients describe our studio as “comfortable, chill and relaxed”, and that means the world to me

Our clients are the reason we do this
Without them, none of this is possible

And I will always make sure they have a safe, judgment free knowledgeable and helpful place to get tattooed and pierced.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
other than the professional hurdles (paperwork and time ) that you have to jump

sometimes the biggest struggle and obstacle is yourself,
When you put everything you have into something, there’s a huge chance it could fail and you have to be willing to take that chance

High risk equals high reward

Don’t be afraid to take the risk
Don’t be afraid to take the chance
Especially if it’s on yourself

Failing is a part of the process
you cannot be scared to do so

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a body Piercer,so naturally we love a good ear curation project 🫶
but truth be told I like piercings that challenge me, maybe it’s just a difficult piece of anatomy that I’m working with or maybe an uncommon Piercing.

I am also not afraid to say No
if I think something won’t work out or it’s just generally a bad idea ,
I like to keep things very honest and real with my clients.
100% transparency

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Quality matters
Education matters,
Kindness matters
Understanding matters

Treat others the way you would want YOUR family to be treated

in every aspect of life
