Growing up in the small town of South Boston, Virginia, I learned early that life’s greatest moments aren’t measured by money—they’re measured by the memories we create with the people we love.
I’ve always loved bringing people together. Whether it was serving in church ministries, helping with community events, or simply watching families celebrate life’s milestones, I found joy in seeing people smile. There was something special about turning an ordinary space into a place where laughter, love, and unforgettable memories could happen. But life hasn’t always been easy.
I’ve experienced heartbreaking loss, including losing my father—my biggest supporter, my role model, and the person who taught me the value of hard work, kindness, and never giving up. Through grief, I realized just how precious time really is. Tomorrow isn’t promised, and every celebration matters. That realization became the foundation of Sweetz Eventz & Entertainment LLC. I didn’t create this business simply to decorate venues or plan events. I created it because I believe people deserve to be fully present during life’s biggest moments instead of stressing over the details. I want families to laugh together, couples to soak in every second of their wedding day, businesses to celebrate their achievements with confidence, and communities to come together in meaningful ways. For me, event planning is about serving people. It’s about creating experiences where everyone feels seen, valued, and celebrated. As a Black woman entrepreneur from a small town, I know what it’s like to dream big while starting with limited resources. Every event I plan is another step toward building something that will impact my community and inspire others to believe their dreams are possible too. Today, Sweetz Eventz & Entertainment LLC proudly serves South Boston, Virginia, and the surrounding areas, providing event planning, coordination, and décor for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, corporate events, nonprofit organizations, community celebrations, and more.

Starting a business in a small town like South Boston, Virginia, has been both rewarding and challenging. One of the biggest obstacles has been building trust and helping people see the value of hiring a professional event planner. In smaller communities, many people are used to planning events themselves or asking family and friends to help, so educating people about what I offer has been a journey.
Another challenge has been growing my business with limited resources while balancing full-time work and investing in myself. Every piece of décor, every marketing opportunity, every networking event, and every certification has required faith, patience, and sacrifice.

I am the Owner and CEO of Sweetz Eventz & Entertainment LLC, a business built from my love for people and my passion for creating meaningful experiences. I specialize in planning and coordinating weddings, birthdays, corporate events, community celebrations, and other special occasions.
What sets me apart is that I genuinely care about the people I serve. I don’t see clients as just another event; I see them as families trusting me with some of the most important moments of their lives. My goal is to take away the stress so they can simply be present and enjoy every moment. I’m most proud of having the courage to turn a lifelong dream into reality. Every event reminds me why I started this journey: to bring people together, spread joy, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
My purpose is simple: to serve others by turning priceless moments into everlasting memories.
