Today we’d like to introduce you to Terrence Huggins.
Hi Terrence, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Terrence Esquire Huggins, Latin Grammy nominated music producer, is a phenomenal composer with a new-age sound and a unique array of music compositions. Esquire’s soothing chords along with experience in production makes this young producer bound to bring original flavor into this world of music! His inspirations include production from Virginia’s own Pharrell and Timberland. “Hailing out of the Washington, DC area and in being surrounded around such amazing talent in the DMV has only inspired me to want to excel in this profession”.
Esquire has completed various projects ranging from Dubstep to R&B. He definitely feels that a heavy influence in tapping into more than one genre is advantageous. Working with a major set of top-notch producers and engineers has allowed Esquire to not only create musical masterpieces, but to also allow him to sharpen vocal and production skills. Esquire has a team behind him that believes in his craft as much as he does, which allows him to expand his creativity to the highest form of artistic expression. Added onto the amount of music he has pushed forward, while living overseas he managed to also produce remixes with artists out of Houston, TX, Los Angeles, CA, London, Argentina, and Canada. Esquire started a production series entitled “Nights In” ranging from places he lived abroad. His first instrumental EP was “Nights on U Street” which highlighted his time spent in DC and the nightlife of the historic U Street in 2015. He then took time out to work on his next piece in releasing “Nights in the Kingdom” which showcased his time spent living in the Middle East. His most recent release was “Groove Theory” which to date has been his most successful album encompassing over 300K streams across all platforms. His efforts lead to him being named as the Head of Music Production at the Best of DC Music Studio (2021) winner, Trilogy Sound Studios, located in Burke, VA. He currently serves as the President/Head of Production at LDR Entertainment based in Norfolk, VA.
Esquire is known for his wise persona, captivating sounds, hard work and lyrical abilities. His melodic vibes capture every ear in a room.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There were definitely some marks in this journey that weren’t always great. But I feel that it made me better and helped build my character and viewpoint of things within the industry.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m am currently serving as the President of LDR Entertainment based in Norfolk, VA. Aside from the Executive side of the music industry, I also am proficient in audio engineering and music production. The thing I am most proud of was my Latin Grammy nomination I received back in 2016, it was definitely a pivotal milestone for me.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
My willingness to learn has been critical to my success. I actively seek feedback and new knowledge, which helps me evolved stay competitive.
