Today we’d like to introduce you to Thanh Nguyen.
Hi Thanh, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have been passionate about my work since I was in Vietnam, where I spent 13 years in this profession. After moving to the United States with my husband, I continued pursuing my career here. Fortunately, I was able to find like-minded teammates, and together we formed a strong team. I am grateful for the support of many friends and, most importantly, the trust and referrals from my clients, which have helped me grow and achieve what I have today
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey has not been smooth. When I first came from Vietnam, my English was quite limited. I was fortunate to start working within the Vietnamese community. Over time, my English has improved significantly, and I am now able to use it in my work. I am also very grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Filipino and Korean clients, as well as many other Asian clients. Sometimes I also have Caucasian American clients, and now I have a quite diverse client base.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work as a makeup artist, specializing in bridal makeup and special events. I am best known for bridal makeup in the DMV area. I am proud of my ability to create a wide range of makeup looks and to effectively address and enhance Asian facial features and skin concerns. What sets me apart is that my makeup style is very natural yet still elegant and luxurious, with a clean, refined finish and a distinct personal touch.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I really like this city because I have friends and family here, and there is a large Vietnamese community. The people are also very polite, respectful, and civilized. I don’t have anything I dislike about this city.
